These days, cleaning products are expected to do more than just kill germs. After spending roughly two years sanitizing every surface we own, we’re finally asking the important questions: Does it look cute? Does it smell nice? Does it make me feel like a put-together adult? Brands are catching on, and the latest to turn dish soap into a status symbol is Diptyque. The French fragrance house is launching its first-ever home-care collection, because apparently even your countertops deserve a designer moment.
The new La Droguerie line includes six products that smell incredible, work well, and won’t destroy the planet. Prices start at $15, which is either a steal or slightly alarming depending on your current dish soap budget. The lineup includes an orange blossom dishwashing liquid with its own scrub brush, a lavender multi-surface cleaner, a patchouli leather and wood-care lotion, plus home-perfuming extras like an odor-eliminating candle and a moth-repellent medallion for your closet. Ingredients are 99 percent natural—think cedar, vinegar, and beeswax—and the amber glass bottles are fully recyclable, with refill options available.
Diptyque may be the fanciest name in the cleaning aisle, but it’s not the only celebrity here. Homecourt by Courteney Cox and Safely by Kris Jenner have also decided that beauty products and scrubbing bubbles belong together. Consider it the new luxury: cleaning supplies you actually want to leave out on the counter.
