For actor andHomecourtfounder Courteney Cox, CeCe isn’t just a best-selling blend of cedarwood, cinnamon, and cardamom—it’s basically her signature aura. “It just feels like me,” she says. So when it was time to cook up a new scent and launchHomecourt’s first-ever body-care line, she wanted it to feel just as personal. Naturally, she enlisted her 20-year-old daughter, Coco, as co-nose.
“She’s my daughter, so obviously I’m biased, but she really is a special human being,” Cox says. Knowing Coco is a water baby, she steered the new Cocomoi collection in a summery direction, mixing her beloved cedarwood and cracked pepper with coconut water and fig. She laid out a few lab samples, asked Coco to pick a favorite, and kept her own vote to herself. “She walked in and named every note—and I’d never told her,” Cox recalls. Of course Coco chose the exact one Mom was secretly rooting for. “It’s exotic, sophisticated, earthy, grounded yet fresh,” Cox says. “That was the one.”
Out today, the Cocomoi lineup includes body wash, body mist, body cream, a rollerball fragrance, and—for the home-obsessed among us—a candle. Ahead, in her own words, Cox shares her favorite new Homecourt drops, a couple of cleaning hacks, and her go-to summer wedding present.
I live for perfume oil, but sometimes you need something you can mist in the car before a meeting or toss in your bag. That’s why I’m obsessed with this body mist. It smells incredible without screaming, “Hello, I bathed in fragrance.”
This candle is the overachiever of the group. It works by the barbecue, in the kitchen, in the bedroom, or next to the tub. I host Sunday dinners, and there’s a bathroom right off the patio. I light one in there, leave the doors open, and the scent drifts through the whole house and outside. The throw is legit, and I’m very proud of that.
And the vessel gets a second life—I give them away constantly. When the candle is done, pour in boiling water, pop out the wick, and suddenly it’s a planter, Q-tip holder, or pen cup. Very satisfying.
I go absolutely nuts with the counter spray. I’ll spritz it on a Swiffer and do a quick whip-around for touch-ups, even on my outdoor rug. And the dish soap? I dilute it in a bucket and mop my wood floors with it. Yes, I also use it in the toilet. Fancy, multipurpose, no judgment.
For weddings I usually stick to the registry because tastes vary, but I’m a big HexClad fan. People rarely splurge on great pots and pans for themselves. Same with knives—a really good blade is one of those things people think, “The cheap one is fine,” until it isn’t. Trust me, life is easier with the good stuff.
